Beach Boy
‘Beach Boy’ came to live from my island clean ups off the coast of Skerries, Co.Dublin. I believe that it is the inside of a ball and a plastic component. The force of the sea crushed their shapes, leaving the material to gain a personality of its own as an object of savage beauty. As an artist I do not manipulate the material much tending to enhance and preserve it in its natural form.
I hope appreciators can experience this piece for its rawness and truth.
Size in cm: 35 x 10 x 11
Material: Found components, steel rod and Grange limestone base.
‘Beach Boy’ is part of my 'Lost & Found at Sea’ collection. For more pieces like this, check out the ‘Lost & Found at Sea’ section of the website.
